Wow! It’s hard to believe that summer holidays have passed so quickly! We hope that you were able to enjoy some of the summer sunshine that eventually made it to the mountains.

All of the staff at BES have been busy getting the school ready for Monday, August 29, the first day of school for grades 1 – 6. Here are few important reminders as we get ready for a new school year:

• school hours: Our school day hours have slightly changed this year to accommodate changes to the bus schedule: classes for all students will begin at 8:35 am, lunch will be from 12:00 pm till 12:52 pm, and dismissal will be at 3:00pm.

• the first day: On Monday August 29, teachers will be waiting at the back of the school with class lists posted. The first day will be a full day for grades 1- 6: please make sure your child is prepared with a snack and lunch.

• school fees: An invoice for school fees will be sent home with your child on the first day. Fees can be paid at the school office.

• new faces: In addition to welcoming many new students and families, we are pleased to welcome a few new but familiar teachers back to the school. Ms. Ireland will be teaching grade 4 and 5 while Ms. Richards is away, and Mme. Cherrett will be teaching French and music while Mme. Leclerc is away. We will also be welcoming many new Education Assistants in the days ahead!
